VZO and Skype are popular in
Myanmar, the former gives better picture and sound quality. Internet calls via
home PCs are not satisfactory over there due to slow lines and power failures.
Normally someone in Myanmar will start the video calls to friends and relatives
abroad from a good Internet Cafe, costing 500 to 1500 kyats per hour. That is
20 to 60 pence per 60 minutes or as little as 0.33 pence per minute. It will
cost nothing if you can start the call from your home PC here to a home PC in
Myanmar with broadband connection.
