No need to ring 0870, 0845 numbers which cost more (UK)

Nowadays in the UK, many business and organizations provide contact phone numbers beginning with 0870, 0871, 0845 etc. These special numbers create additional income for those organizations and companies as the callers have to pay up to 10 pence per minute, even while waiting in the queue.

Even if you have an 'inclusive landline calls' phone package, 0844, 0845, 0870, or 0871 numbers are not usually included in your 'free minutes' allocation. Many mobile phone packages also exclude freephone 0800 and 0808 numbers for your bundled minutes.

So you can ring the alternative standard land numbers instead of the expensive special numbers, but only the latter is disclosed to you officially. So how do we find the standard land line number as an alternative? If we can find it, the calls we make can be significantly cheaper or almost 'free' if you have an unlimited 'inclusive landline calls' phone package or are on a monthly mobile tariff.
