Stop Blasphemous Use of Buddha Statues

        We are writing to express concern about the Commercial Exploitation of the Buddha Statue with attached 'Genitalia' at the Art Gallery in Norwich, UK. We feel that showing the Statue of the Buddha in this way is extremely blasphemous and highly offensive to millions of people practicing the peaceful religious faith. Buddhists value peace and always extend goodwill to all people regardless of their Faiths. The Statues of the Buddha are highly sacred to us and must not be treated this way. We strongly urge your company to immediately remove the offending attached 'Genitalia' or the Statue.

        This Statue of the Buddha was on display in the window of the Saint Giles Street Gallery in Norwich, UK. Now the Buddha statue sits on the floor below the Beatles. The Gallery owner is heartless considering the scale of sadness inflicted on thousands of Buddhists and non-Buddhists who learn about this ill-treatment of the top Religious Figure.

        'Rude Buddha' causes outrage

        A local police officer has visited the art gallery in question. The Statue was displayed prominently in a window frontage in full view of passers-by on a busy public street. Gallery owner David Koppel has agreed to turn the sculpture, so the front is not on view. This arrangement is not the solution acceptable to Buddhists in the UK and all over the world. This so-called 'freedom of artistic expression' is not for the Art Gallery which is freely open to the General Public. A very serious offence can be caused to any general member of the public on entering the Gallery.
